DOCUMENT FOLIO

Every important document on deck.

  1. Drop them in

Certificates, passport, visas, medical. PDF or a photo from your phone.

  2. Dates read and filed

Type the dates in and you see what runs out when. On Pro, SeaPapers reads the type and expiry date off each document and files it for you.

  3. Reminded before it runs out

An email at ninety days, thirty, seven and the day itself, each saying what to do next. Upload the renewal and it resets.

  4. Counted toward your next ticket

Your months at sea are counted from your vessel dates and the tickets in your folio. On the deck and engineering ladders, an email lands the day the sea time for your next ticket reads as served.

  5. One link to the boat

Send the captain or purser a link. They see every document, what is valid and what expires, and download what they need. Revoke it any time.

Your papers sit in private storage behind your login. Share links are yours to revoke, and every open is logged.

CAREER PASSPORT · AUTOFILL

Now in beta

Every agency form asks the same things. Answer them once.

Your Career Passport is the standing set of answers an application asks for: name, nationality, where you are based, when you are available, the role you are after, and the expiry dates on your certificates and visas. It fills itself from the CV and the documents you already keep here, and you correct anything that is not right.

Then the Chrome extension puts them on the form. Open a recruitment site, press Fill with SeaPapers, and you get a table of every box it matched and what it would put there. Tick what you want, correct the rest, and press submit yourself.

It never submits an application for you. It fills boxes and stops.

Autofill is part of Pro.

The extension is in review at the Chrome Web Store. Your Career Passport is ready today.

DAY COUNT

Now on every account

Every tax year ends with the same question. How many days were you out?

Log each trip as one line: left South Africa on 3 May, landed in France on 4 May. The day count turns your crossings into the number the rule wants, in the rule's own unit, for the country you file in and the ones you spend a season in. South Africa's 183 and 60 day exemption tests, the United Kingdom's seafarers deduction, the United States 330 full days and the Schengen 90 in 180 are all in it. Each rule carries its source and the date we checked it.

It reads the days you were signed on from your Sea Service ledger, so the employment gate is already answered. Where your record cannot say which side of a border you were on, it shows those days as unresolved rather than guessing in your favour. One switch marks your list complete when it is.

Day countExample record

South Africa: 156 of 184 full days outside in the current 12 months. 28 to go. 3 days unresolved.

This can still be met up to 11 Sep 2027.

Day counts come from your entries. This is not tax advice. Confirm your position with your tax practitioner.

Day count is on every account. Log a trip, or one crossing at a time.

How it works

Guided from empty page to send.

  1. Ink drawing of an open cabin trunk packed with filed documents, more blank sheets fanning down into it.

    Gather

    Vessels, tickets, education, visas, references.

  2. Ink drawing of two hands folding a single sheet of paper along marked fold lines.

    Build

CV lays itself out live; template/colour/typeface. See its CV check.

  3. Ink drawing of an antique brass signal cannon firing a paper plane along a dotted arc.

    Send

Export the CV. Share the folio with one link.

THE CV CHECK

Evaluated the way captains read.

300

CVs can land for one captain's berth on a fifty-metre.

DOCKWALK

30 sec

is what recruiters say a first read gets.

CREW RECRUITERS

5 min

to send your papers over. Nobody expects that, and it shows you are organised.

A CAPTAIN WHO HIRES

A captain reads the vessel facts first, then the tickets, then three lines of profile. The CV check evaluates your page in that order and names what to fix. Captain Ready is 90 and above. Get there before you send it.

Then the call goes well and they ask for your papers. One share link puts the whole pack on their desk in five minutes, while other candidates are still searching their email. Nobody expects that, and it is the first piece of work a captain sees you do.

No account and no card. It takes about twenty seconds.

THE PROOFING WALL

The form on one side. Your CV on the other.

Type a vessel, watch it set itself on the page. Autosaved every few seconds, laid out by the same engine that prints the PDF.

The SeaPapers editor: the guided form and Template Studio on the left, a live-rendered example CV on the right.
Plate 01 / 03

The whole wardrobe, one tap.

Thirteen designs with your own CV rendered live inside each one. Twenty-three colours and four typefaces per template, all pre-tuned so nothing you pick can break the page.

The Template Studio panel: a gallery of live layout cards for deck, the recommended accent row, the full 23-hue colour board and the typeface toggle.
Plate 02 / 03

Tickets, with their expiry dates where agents look.

STCW, ENG1, your licence and every course, picked from the real ladders and dated. The details that decide yacht jobs, structured so they cannot be missed.

The certificates panel: the highest licence block, the STCW and ENG1 expiry fields, and the certificate list rendering with expiry dates on the sheet beside it.
