Terms of Service

These terms apply from 19 August 2026. They are an agreement between you and SeaPapers, operated by Magentic, a South African sole proprietorship. Contact: ahoy@seapapers.com. By creating an account or using seapapers.com you accept them.

What SeaPapers is

SeaPapers is a CV builder for superyacht crew. You can build a CV in any department and template and see it on the page, watermarked, before you pay; you can export your data and delete your account at any time. Pro is a paid annual subscription that unlocks the clean PDF export without a watermark, the Document Folio for your certificates and papers, and every other Pro feature as it ships. SeaPapers is self-service software. You build and edit your own documents. It is not a recruitment agency, a job board, an employment placement service, an immigration service, or a CV-writing service, and it does not promise you a job.

Your account

You must be 18 or older. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what you put in your CV and your folio, and you confirm you have the right to upload it. Do not use SeaPapers to store or share anything unlawful, or anything that belongs to someone else without their permission.

One account, one person. An account is for your own CV and your own documents. Sharing a login, or using one account to build CVs for other people, is a breach of these terms. The features that use our reading and writing tools (importing a CV, rewriting your profile or duty bullets, reading dates from documents) are metered; the limits are there to stop abuse and can change. If an account breaks these rules we may pause it, cap it or close it. Refunds stay as set out in the refund policy below.

Your content stays yours

Your CV, your documents and your data are yours. We store and process them only to run the service for you, as described in the privacy policy. We do not sell them, we do not use them to train models, and we do not show them to anyone unless you create a share link or ask us to. Delete your account and they go with it.

Payment, renewal and cancellation

Our order process is conducted by Creem.io, which acts as our reseller and Merchant of Record for all our orders. Creem.io handles the payment, issues your receipt, collects any VAT or sales tax, provides payment customer service and handles returns.

Pro is billed once a year, in advance, at the price shown to you at checkout, in US dollars. It renews automatically every year at the same price you first paid, for as long as you keep it. You will get a receipt from Creem.io for every charge. Applicable VAT or sales tax is calculated and collected at checkout.

You can cancel at any time in one click from the customer portal in your account settings. When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the year you have paid for and then stops. Nothing else is charged.

The 7-Day Export is a single payment, not a subscription. It covers one CV with unlimited PDF exports for seven days from purchase, at the price shown at checkout. It never renews and nothing further is charged. When the seven days end, your CV and everything in it stay in your account exactly as they were, back on the watermarked preview.

Refund policy

The same policy covers every charge we make, Pro and the 7-Day Export alike. If it is not for you, tell us within 30 days of any charge, first payment or renewal, and we refund it in full. Email ahoy@seapapers.com from the address on your account, or reply to your receipt. The money goes back to the card or account you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 business days. After 30 days a charge is not refunded, but you can still cancel so nothing more is taken.

Changes, availability and liability

We may change or add features. If we raise the price of Pro, the new price applies to new customers only; yours stays where it was when you joined. If we ever have to stop the service, we will tell you by email at least 30 days ahead and you can export your data first.

We work to keep SeaPapers available and your data safe, and we back it up. Even so, we cannot promise it will never be down and we are not responsible for a lost job, a missed contract or any other loss that comes from using it or from not being able to use it. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa. If we change them, the date at the top moves and the new terms apply from then. We will email you before any change that reduces what you get.
